We also offer dozens of custom materials, which allow enthusiasts to add their personal touch to an already great firearm. Things have changed over the decades, and while we’re still offering the classic sandpaper style mineral grit grip tape overlays, we’ve led the pack in adding materials and continue to seek new ones to add to our lineup.
It’s not all about material selection in our design department. We go through a hands-on process that involves testing each product on our own firing range. This allows us to identify areas that can be improved upon during product design, so we can release something that is proven to work under fire, literally. That process also shapes our design. While some grip makers focus on slapping as much material on a gun as possible, and include vanity cutouts show their branding, we focus on making something that works well and performs well under various circumstances. Not everyone likes the rough feel of grip tape on the back of their pistol, which can make it harder to reposition the pistol while quickly drawing and firing, and can even cause irritation or make shooting uncomfortable for people with sensitive hands. Rather than use a design that has one piece that wraps around the entire grip, we use separate overlays for the back strap area, so the customer can add he piece to their firearm, or just leave it off.
