“Tractiongrips began with an experience I had while doing firearms training on a law enforcement range back in the late summer of 1999. I was practicing for qualification, and noticed every time drew the firearm,I was having to rotate my hand a little to get on target. The problem was quickly identified as rubber slip-on type grip, which due to the heat and humidity, was not staying in place. I cut it off and thought there had be a better way to add some grip to the pistol. Soon after, I found a material that seemed great for the task, and cut it to fit the areas I needed grip. Co-workers and folks from other agencies began asking if I could make them for their sidearms, So I did. At that time, Ebay was just taking off, so I listed some there, and gradually, a business came out of it. What started as a hobby business, became a full time job. We’ve shipped grips to every US state, and to countries all over the world. It’s just been an amazing thing to see.” -Don Myers

Instant Stipple is a line of granulated rubber grip tape, made by Tractiongrips. Instant Stipple granulated rubber grip tape overlays, along with Tractiongrips embossed rubber grip tape overlays, are made in Athens, GA, USA, using American made materials. We value buying American, and keeping Americans in jobs. When possible, we use US made products, even if the cost is higher. Unfortunately, some materials just can’t be sourced domestically, such as the clear packaging we use, and some of the custom materials we offer. We source our cork materials from Portugal, while some of the small batch materials we offer, such as the snake skin style grips, are sourced from Asia. If you’re an American manufacturer offering a material we may be able to use, we’d love to hear from you and see what’s possible.
